How to link a meter.base to a system

Installers can link a meter.base to a water system and see whether it is online or offline. Please note that the meter.base must be meter.me certified in order to be linked to a system. For more information on how to do so, see below.

Link a meter.base to a system:

From the mobile app:

  1. Log in to the mobile app
  2. Navigate to the system that you want to link a meter.base to
  3. On the components list, ensure you are toggled to “meter.base” and select the ellipse in the upper right corner
  4. Select Add meter.base
  5. If available on the meter.base, scan the QR code to prefill any information provided. Otherwise, manually enter the DevEUI of the meter.base
  6. Enter a name for the meter.base
  • (Optional) enter a description and notes for the meter.base
  1. Add the meter.base’s location (geo coordinates) - optional but recommended
  • Move the map or search for an address to locate the component. Match the map pin to the location of the component
  • Tap “Save” on the map screen to select the location
  • Why set a location?
    • Location details are required in order to view your components on the map view in the mobile app
    • Location details can also make it easier to remember exactly where components are located on a large property.
  1. Select Save

That’s it! You have added the local meter.base to your water system! You can now view this meter.base and its online status on your system.

From the web app:

  1. Log in to web.meter.me
  2. Select the system that you want to link a meter.base to
  3. Select the meter.base tab
  4. Select the Add button
  5. If available on the meter.base, scan the QR code to prefill any information provided. Otherwise, manually enter the DevEUI of the meter.base
  6. Enter a name for the meter.base
  • (Optional) Enter a description and notes for the meter.base

    • Location details are required in order to view your components on the map view in the mobile app
    • Location details can also make it easier to remember exactly where components are located on a large property.
  1. Select Save

That’s it! You have added the local meter.base to your water system! You can now view this meter.base and its online status on your system. Additionally, installers will see any linked meter.base(s) listed by name on the signal graphs of motes for a clearer look at the signal level from each mote to the local meter.base(s).
