How to reset the M2 mote

When troubleshooting an M2 mote, you may need to reset the mote to manually initiate an uplink.

To reset the mote, follow these steps:

  1. Cover the entire solar panel of the mote - this ensures the mote will power down completely when the sensor cable is unplugged
  2. Unplug the sensor cable from the mote
  3. Wait for at least 30 seconds for the mote to power down - it is important to keep the entire solar panel covered until the sensor cable is plugged back in
  4. Plug the sensor cable back into the mote
  5. Uncover the solar panel
  6. Open the meter.me app and check if the component updated

Mobile app:

  1. Open meter.me app.
  2. Select the system that you are troubleshooting.
  3. Select the component you are resetting.
  4. Select the info (:information_source:) button below the component’s name.
  5. Check the Status section to view when the mote was last seen. The mote should report in shortly after reset.

Web app:

  1. Log in to web.meter.me
  2. Select the system that you are troubleshooting.
  3. Select the component you are resetting.
  4. Check the component’s Status section towards the top of the screen to view when the mote was last seen. The mote should report in shortly after reset.
