Enable meter.base offline alerts to get notified when a meter.base you manage goes offline. This feature (released in beta) will trigger an alert when the meter.base has been offline for 5 minutes or more.
You can also choose which meter.bases on which systems you’d like to enable this alert for and how to be alerted. Continue reading for more information on all your options and how to access them.
Mobile App
To enable or disable offline alerts:
- Log in to the app and navigate to the water system with the meter.base you want to be alerted about
- Select the ‘Actions’ tab (bottom right)
- Select “Offline alerts”
- Select the toggle next to the meter.base you want to enable or disable the alert for or use ‘switch all’ (top right) to change them all.
a. When the toggle is green, the alert is enabled
b. When the toggle is grey, the alert is disabled
To customize the alert preferences:
Select a specific alert
- Select the Nudge frequency you prefer: None, Daily or Weekly
- Nudge alerts notify you if the initial alert condition is still active after the nudge period (day or week) - Select the “Alert on recovery” toggle to enable or disable it
- Enable “Alert on recovery” to get notified when the device is back online - Select your preferred delivery method: email, SMS, and/or push notification to your smartphone.

Web App
To enable or disable offline alerts:
- Log in to the app and navigate to the water system you want to be alerted about.
- Select the ‘Actions’ tab (left-hand menu, listed beneath ‘Devices’)
- Under ‘System Alerts’, select the toggle next to the meter.base you want to enable or disable the alert for.
a. When the toggle is green, the alert is enabled
b. When the toggle is grey, the alert is disabled
Please note that unlike the Mobile App, there is no way to edit the alert preferences on the web.
While offline meter.base alerts are still beta, only some users will have access to this feature. If you don’t see it in your app and have a meter.base you’d like to be alerted about, please reach out to us at support@meter.me.
